Tough · Beautiful · For Everyone

OOTYULTRA is known for its rewarding and fulfilling experience, shaped by the event atmosphere, the energy on the course, the commitment of our volunteers, and the world's first personalised laser-cut 4" finisher medal.

How the course feels

First light on Doddabetta, rolling climbs, sharp descents through tea estates, and wide Nilgiri views. The route demands effort, yet rewards you at every turn.

Support & safety

Aid stations every 3–5 km, attentive medical and recovery support, and a finish area that looks after every runner from first to last.

People of the Blue Mountains

Families, locals, and fellow runners bring the Nilgiris alive with their encouragement. Their energy on race day is as memorable as the course itself.

Impact beyond the race

Every OOTYULTRA entry helps create something lasting in the Nilgiris, including new play parks and other initiatives that benefit the local community.

Welcome to your Nilgiris weekend

Make the most of your race, your stay, and the Blue Mountains during OOTYULTRA. #ultramalaivasi Expo, bib pick-up, and the finish area form a compact hub in Ooty, keeping the weekend smooth for runners and families.

Expo & registration

Hotel Tamil Nadu on Wenlock Road hosts the #ultramalaivasi expo, medical checks, and bib collection.

The Saturday briefing at 4:30 pm is the best place to understand the course, meet fellow runners, and soak in the race-weekend energy.

Start & finish

All categories start at the Tamil Nadu Tourism Ooty Boat House.

Every race finishes at the Government Tea Park in Battarkambai, around 8.3 km from town, with transport options available for a convenient return.

Travel tips

Arrive in Ooty by Saturday before noon so you can settle in, breathe the mountain air, and prepare calmly for race day.

Stay an extra day or two after the race to recover from the tough OOTYULTRA effort, explore the Nilgiris at your own pace, and enjoy the cool weather.

Visit nearby viewpoints, walk through tea estates, sample local tea and chocolates, and shop for Nilgiri specialties.

Shuttle buses will bring runners back to town after the race, making it easy to continue your weekend in the Blue Mountains.

A perfect summer escape

OOTYULTRA is a great opportunity for families, friends, and running groups to enjoy the Blue Mountains together.

Cool summer weather, calm viewpoints, tea gardens, and forest trails make Ooty a refreshing break, while the #ultramalaivasi festivity brings camaraderie and shared memories to the entire weekend.
