OOTYULTRA 30K

30k OOTYULRA will be run on the mountain roads (~1000 m elevation) with close to 25 km non-repeating sections. The first 5 km is run on flat roads and the ascend to the Dodabetta Peak starts from the 6k onwards. From there till about 10k its an uphill which will take you to the second-highest peak in South India.

Most runners will reach at the time the daylight is already broken and you can have the breathtaking view of the blue mountains from that height. Some early runners can even witness the sun rising from the plains and on a clear day, one can even see the Ooty town, the lake, and the racecourse clearly.

After the 10 km, you will run down and reach the 4 roads junction and run towards Kothagiri. At the 15 km, you will reach Tea Park, this is the finish point for all categories. After a refuelling stop, you will get out of the Tea Park and get to the second 15 km section. Follow the route markers on the roads/road intersections carefully.

From 15k to 30k is a loop of 15k with steep downhill sections and a winding uphill section to complete.

Qualification

To qualify for this category, a runner must be 18 years of oldOne official half marathon completed within 3 hr after 1-Aug-2018 & official timing records MUST be submittedTiming records can be submitted/updated after the registration is done but before 10-Mar-2019

Travel

Plan to reach Ooty on Sat before 12.00 pm and plan to depart from Ooty on either Sunday evening or Monday after a good rest on Sunday
